On the Bank Holiday of the Coronation weekend, the church hosted a special Coronation Afternoon Tea for residents living near the church, members of our Community groups (Baby and Toddlers and Walshaw Community Choir), and other friends.
Around 90 guests attended and everyone enjoyed the occasion. A great team of volunteers and home bakers helped to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and there was plenty of food for everyone.
Specially produced pocket sized 'Coronation Gospels' (actually John's Gospel) were distributed, and following the event, 75 were supplied to Christ Church Primary School for distribution to their years 5 and 6 pupils
