Christ Church Walshaw Baby & Toddler Group & Walshaw Community Choir will be starting back 15th January

Christ Church Baby & Toddler Group will be starting back after the holidays on Wednesday 15th January in church. We look forward to seeing everyone as well as meeting new tots and their carers. If you new just come along. The group meets 10am 'til 11.15am term time and includes lots of toys, crafts, a story and lots of singing. And for the grown ups there are refreshments (please bring refreshments for your little one) and a chance for some adult conversation too! £1.50 per child donation with a maximum of £3 for a family.

Walshaw Community Choir meets 7.15pm 'til 8.45pm on Wednesday evenings term time for practices. They have lots of fun together. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys singing ... you don't have to be a good singer and there are no auditions. The choir performs in various concerts during the year ... in Bury and beyond and have helped the fund raising of various local charities. Non term time members of the choir who wish to meet socially. All welcome ... just come along and give us a try.

Building Work

Christ Church Walshaw church building has recently undergone a major re-ordering so that it can provide a focus for activity for our community ... including our existing community groups including our baby & Toddler Group, Walshaw Community Choir and our monthly Drop In. We also anticipate it being a base for new community groups and existing community groups looking for a new venue.

We had a new heating system fitted in 2018, and in 2019 we took out the pews out, replacing them with modern stackable chairs, and we built a modern kitchen and new toilets too.

Most of our pews were donated to a new local community social enterprise project, Radcliffe Community Benefit Society, which is running Radcliffe Market Hall. The project aims to provide an ethical alternative to mass produced supermarket shopping. Other pews were given to members of our church family many of whom gave donations towards the work on the church building.

The work will be finished in January 2020. However we are really please to share that our church family is now back in church for Sunday morning worship and for special events and services.

We are having an official launch weekend on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th January.

On the Saturday we will be inviting our neighbours to come and have a look around as well as share with us in refreshments. There will also be toys and craft activities for the children and Walshaw Community Choir will be singing too! On the Sunday the Bishop of Manchester is joining us for a celebration service at 11am.

Our neighbours, as well as friends of Christ Church Walshaw, old and new, are very welcome to come and join us on these days. It would be great to see you!
