Connecting with our community
Christ Church Walshaw, for over 100 years, has played an important part in our community of Walshaw, including providing, and continuing to support, our local church primary school.
As a church family we have been looking again at how we engage with, and reach out to, our community ... aspiring to get better at connecting with the people of Walshaw, make a difference in our community and to help those in need.
After a process of prayer, listening to our community, thinking about the needs of our neighbours and thinking about what we might have to offer, we have decided to focus our efforts on:
Connecting with young families as well as children and young people
Connecting with those who are lonely, housebound, have difficulty getting out and about … and
Creating social opportunities to get alongside people and to get to know them
While to varying degrees we are already engaging in some of this we believe this work can and should be built upon – making the most of existing links, partnerships and opportunities.
We are very excited about this developing aspect of our ministry to the community of Walshaw and Bury. Please do revisit this page to find out how we are going on with 'connecting with our community' as we roll out new projects and initiatives.
